Where love of
learning begins
History & Social Studies
At Long Ridge, History and Social Studies are woven into every aspect of the curriculum as an interdisciplinary framework, encouraging students to make meaningful connections between the past and the present. Through hands-on exploration, student-driven inquiry, and culturally diverse content, children investigate how people live, work, and shape their world across time and place. From ancient civilizations to early American history, students examine essential questions, analyze primary sources, and participate in discussions and projects that deepen understanding and spark curiosity. As they grow, students build research and presentation skills, with field trips enhancing classroom learning and bringing history to life.
“The more you know about the past, the better
prepared you are for the future.”.”
—Theodore Roosevelt
